Job: Independent Mental Health Advocates

Sheffield Mental Health Advocacy Service has been appointed to provide the new Independent Mental Health Advocates (IMHA) Service in Sheffield.

We have the following vacancies:

Independent Mental Health Advocate

Advocates will help qualifying patients understand the legal provisions to which they are subject under the Mental Health Act 1983 and the rights and safeguards they are entitled to. The advocacy work will also include generic advocacy work for all adult mental health service users to voice their views in respect of their care and treatment, general well being and access information and other services.

You will need at least 2 years experience of working with people with mental health needs and have a good understanding of ‘advocacy’.
