Summer Events with the Park Rangers - August

Saturday August 1st, Parson Cross Park, 11am-4pm. Sheffield Kite Festival. See kite fliers from far and wide, with the chance to try small professional kites. For more information contact 0114 246 4989.

Monday 3rd August, Cholera Monument Grounds, Norfolk Road, 1pm-3pm. Treasure hunt – read the map and unscramble the clues! Contact 0114 275 1176 for more information.

Tuesday 4th August, Roe Woods, 10.30am-4.30pm. Young people's bushcraft skills for 10-14 year olds accompanied by an adult. Learn to make shelters, cook on a campfire and use tools and fire safely. Lunch provided. Early booking essential as places limited. Meet at the Norwood Road entrance to the woods. Contact 0114 240 3578 for information.

Fridays 7th and 28th August, Parkwood Springs, 11am-2pm. ‘Maps and things’ – try map reading and orienteering. Prizes for the quickest. Meet at the car park entrance on Cookswood Rd/Shirecliffe Road. Contact 0114 245 9749 for more information.

Monday 10th August, Cholera Monument Grounds, 1pm -3pm. ‘Magnificent Magnifiable Beasts’. Use our equipment to discover the little creatures that live here. Make a mini-beast of your own. Meet at the Monument grounds, Norfolk Road. Contact 0114 275 1176 for information.

Monday 10th and Friday 21st August, Osgathorpe Park, 10am-12 noon. Enjoy a fun day of grass sledging for all the family. Meet Osgathorpe Park play area. Contact 0114 245 9749 for information.

Thursday 13th August, Longley Park, 2pm-4pm. Family fun day with loads of activites. Meet in the park near the pavilion. Contact 0114 246 4989 for information.

Sunday 30th and Monday 31st August, Norfolk Park, 10.30am-5.30pm. Sheffield Fayre.
