This video shows the response of Burngreave residents to the early ending of New Deal funding for projects in March 2009 and the attempts by one project, the Burngreave Community Study Support Consortium, run by the Yemeni Community Association, to secure continued funding.
Fortunately Sheffield City Council’s Children and Young People’s Directorate agreed to continue funding the project, in a reduced form, for a further 5 months with a promise of continued funding long-term. Sadly, however, funding for the apprentices featured in the video, who were part of a different project, was not continued.
