Story: Afrah Al-kheli
An inspirational peace walk took place on the 26th April, organised by religious institutions that encompassed local people, and guests from outside of Sheffield that were eager to come, and celebrate the togetherness, and the diversity the community is blessed with.
Celebrating its 6th anniversary, the walk set off from Burngreave, into Fir Vale, and continued to Firth Park. People from different faiths came to celebrate unity and peace. “It’s a great occasion for all communities and religions.” John Mellor.
Reflections and prayers were made outside mosques, and churches. The event finished outside the Methodist Church in Firth Park, where refreshments were given, and people had the opportunity to socialise, and network with one another. “This event is about accepting each other, and learning to live in peace with one another.”
