Messenger Editorial

Burngreave residents have a unique invitation to the Town Hall on June 11th 2009 to tell councillors of the positives and negatives of Burngreave New Deal and the effect on the community.

Sheffield City Council is investigating the management of the New Deal programme and, at the council meeting in March 2009, we were promised that

“input to the review would be welcomed from those people and organisations involved or affected by the current difficulties.”

We need to take this opportunity – to register Burngreave’s views and to make sure that we scrutinise the decisionmakers properly. This is one thing we can learn from the fall-out of New Deal.
