New booklet on adult courses

Adult Learning Guide Spring 2009

January saw the launch of a new learning guide for Burngreave and Fir Vale, listing courses for adults in the area alongside news about adult learning and training opportunities.

The booklet fills the gap left with the end of funding for Burngreave Learning Campaign, and with it the end of the Burngreave Learner.

The booklet is produced by Burngreave Community Action Forum's (BCAF) Adult Learning Working Group – the Chair, Mary Blacka, introduced the first publication. Courses are listed below

Welcome to the first edition of the Adult Learning Guide for Burngreave and Fir Vale. We hope you will find something here to interest, intrigue and, even, inspire you. There are many learning opportunities for adults in the area, so whether you want to boost your employment horizons, learn a new skill or simply want to pursue an interest, there should be something for you.

This booklet has been put together by the Adult Learning Working Group, which is part of the Burngreave Community Action Forum. The costs of the booklet have been met from the Working Neighbourhoods Fund.

We intend to produce further booklets for the Summer and Autumn Terms. If you have any ideas on how to improve the booklet, or – even better – if would like to join the writing team, please let us know. We are particularly interested in hearing about the experiences of local learners. Finally, I would like to thank everybody who has contributed to the production of this booklet.
