Julia Pidd

Julia Pidd, Firshill Tenants and Residents Association

Julia has been described as “one of our youngest 80 year olds” by colleagues on Firshill estate. For the last eleven years, she’s been an active member of the TARA, and for a lot longer, an active member of St Cuthbert’s at Fir Vale. Never one to miss an opportunity for a fundraising tombola, coffee morning, fair, fete or raffle on the estate for any and every good cause. And the lunch club at Roe Lane has rarely been held without her energies of humping chairs and tables, as well as making sure everyone is fed and watered.

Julia has been a long standing supporter of environmental improvements – and a sterling do-er. The ‘community garden’ at Firshill is her baby; and she’s always been heavily involved in the environmental forums of Burngreave. She has never been known to be silent on any perceived injustice against those with no voice.

A lovely sense of humour and a permanent twinkle in her eye. On her retirement from the TARA, a belated thanks from the Area Panel.
