On Wednesday 24th June,Bryon Wood’s Family Fun Day took place. The weather was great and everyone came out to support the school and have some fun!

After a difficult year, parents and staff were determined to organise a fun event and to raise money to make activities more sustainable. A grand total of £629 was raised, proving that it was a huge success. £200 is for Year 5 to ensure their trip to Whitby can take place and the rest of the money will be spent on holiday club activities, courses for parents and more events like this.

The event was organised by the Parents’ Group, along with Dave Hall (Learning Mentor), Smaira Sadique (Family Advocacy Officer), Alexis Cowan (Extended Schools Coordinator) and Kaltun Mohamed (Community Worker) with the support of the Year 5 team and all the school staff on the day. Everyone worked so hard making food and posters, setting up and tidying up the mess afterwards. It was a real team effort! Norman Hanashi (parent of Farid Hanashi in Y1 and Lina Hanashi in F2) said,

“It was brilliant! It was a good chance for children to be with their friends and take part in all of the activities. The kids all enjoyed the activities and the food was great. My daughter and son had a really good time – they kept on talking about it, especially the bouncy castle. I think that the school should organise more things similar to this"
