Burngreave Study Support Apprentice
I’m out of work now, I’m not doing anything. I thought it was going to continue until July and then I was going to go to college. I was getting qualifications in youth work with the apprenticeship, that’s all stopped. I’m upset, it’s a shock. Now I’m trying to find another job, but no one is recruiting.
I was a student at study support in 2006, but I didn’t take my education seriously, and I was a drop out from college, Diane helped me get through that and gave me a chance. I thought I could teach the kids from my experience; I didn’t have anyone like me when I was young to say ‘I’ve been there, but you can do it differently’. I’ve turned it around now, it’s given me a lot of confidence and experience – I’d like to thank Diane for that.
