A day to discuss the issue of torture – what it is, how it affects survivors, and what support they can get.
Speakers include members of Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture, Liberty, Amnesty International, Sheffield Guantánamo Campaign, Solace, Redress, Helen Bamber Foundation, Northern Refugee Centre, lawyers and caseworkers
It will be an informal day to share different experiences. Open to anyone who is interested, particularly asylum seekers and befrienders.
Lunch and refreshments provided.
The event will take place at the Adventist Church on Andover St on Sunday 29th June 2008 between 10am and 4pm. All are welcome. The charge is £5 (waged), £3 (conncessions) and free to asylum seekers.
