I’m from Pitsmoor. I got involved in the project by talking to Uzma Bibi, I did some voluntary work with her and she helped me a lot with looking for jobs and getting on to courses. Before this trainee job I used to go up Sharrow Youth Centre (Football Unites Racism Divides). I did voluntary work up there, like street kick, delivering sessions in schools and organising events.

I think the area needs to change in a lot of ways. We need more facilities for the young people to use, more youth centres, ongoing sessions at night. That’s when the young people are out on the streets doing nothing but causing trouble – they are bored and have nothing to do.

In the future I hope to be a Burngreave community worker because I want to help young people as much as I can. I think I will be a good role model because I think positive and I want to get the best out of young people.
