Following the success of the Race for Life in June 2008, Local walkers continued training and Activity Sheffield organised a walk at Wentworth Castle in Barnsley.

Following the success of the Race for Life in June 2008, Local walkers continued training and Activity Sheffield organised a walk at Wentworth Castle in Barnsley.
The group trained hard and on Sunday 21st September 2008, in glorious weather, seven ladies, five over 50, and three staff took part in the 10km (6 mile). Everyone finished within their target time including one lady aged 74.
The walk raised about £400 for Cancer Research and is looking forward to the next walk. New members, male and female, are welcome. Training every Wednesday 1.15pm – 2.15pm at Verdon Recreation Centre. Contact Aislinn Adams – 2491626 or Kerry Bailey – 273 4266.
