Ellesmere Children’s Centre is the first community based childcare centre in Sheffield to achieve the Gold Standard for quality of service. Centre Manager, Sharon Curtis said:
"We have been providing childcare services in Burngreave for ten years and always focus on providing the very best service possible.”
Sheffield’s award-winning Ellesmere Children’s Centre has been presented with a Gold Pathways to Quality Award from Sheffield City Council’s Learning and Achievement Service.
Pathways to Quality Awards are presented at three levels – bronze, silver and gold – and measure the quality of service provided by an organisation. The children’s centre gained gold at the first attempt and is the first community-based childcare centre to achieve the Gold Standard.
Centre Manager, Sharon Curtis was thrilled for her team in being presented with the award and said:
“We have one of the best childcare teams in Sheffield and it’s their dedication to our children that has won this award and made us first choice for many parents and carers in our area.”
To achieve a Pathways to Learning Gold Award the Centre had to show excellence in several areas, these being working with parents, making the best of outside resources, child interaction, child protection and diversity among others.
Ellesmere Children’s Centre is a childcare and education centre that provides places for 50 children aged up to five years old. It has won several business awards and has been recognised by the Duke of York for its work in supporting its community.
