The Phoenix Music Club, based at The Companions Club, Barnsley Road, took flight in style on 5th June and 3rd July with two evenings of folk and roots music, song, dance and stories from all over the world. Phoenix prides itself on promoting local artists alongside international ones, and it's inspiring to see what diverse talent we have here on our doorstep.

The atmosphere at a Phoenix event is welcoming and exciting. The aim is to give everyone something they know and love, something new, and something to dance to. Enthusiastic feedback from punters confirms Phoenix passed this test with flying colours.

Phoenix Music Club will be back on 27th September, at the Lantern Theatre, Nether Edge, featuring Finnish blues artist Erja Lyytinen. Then it’s back to the Companions Club, on Thursdays 9th October, 13th November and 11th December. Details will be posted on the club's website, http://www.phoenixmusicclub.org.uk, where you can also sign up for the e-newsletter.
