BURNGREAVE HEALTH SHOP - Further information

Funding for Public Health work has been secured from Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC). This will tackle health inequalities by a range of community health interventions to improve the management of long term conditions as well as health education and health promotion programmes on smoking, physical activity and healthy eating.

The resources will be used to establish a team of workers at Spital Hill working in collaboration with health staff and community organisations. Sensitivity and flexibility will be a hallmark of the approach taking account of the diverse nature of the local population. The programme will be funded through Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC) with in kind contribution from Sheffield PCT.

The team will be line managed through the Public Health Directorate by Gary McCulloch and Paula Mackintosh.

The programme is a joint venture between the PCT providing in kind support and BNDfC providing staffing and associated costs.
