Aman Ali was granted indefinite leave to remain in Britain on Wednesday 25th June 2008.
Aman fled to England from Afghanistan in 2002, after his family were killed. In 2007, while repairing a roof, he fell and broke his back. He was left wheelchair bound, but because of his status received little support. Local people have campaigned for Aman to remain in the UK since March 2008.
He would like to thank his campaign group, everyone at the Ashram New Roots Café and everyone at New Perspectives. The Burngreave Messenger started Aman’s campaign when he was interviewed the day the immigration police called at 4am – support when he really needed it.
Aman can now start a new life thanks to the support from his community in Burngreave.
