Three convicted after Younis Khan shooting

After a six week trial, the verdicts are in: David and Ashley Cohen have been convicted for the murder of Younis Khan on 14th March 2007 as he innocently drove his taxi close to his home on Scott Rd. The Cohens both received life sentences. The judge in this case took the unusual step of saying they should not even be considered for parole for at least 31 and 33 years respectively. It is an indication of the way the courts will view gun crime today

David Ashmore was also sentenced for 3½ years for his part in disposing of a car, whilst Ramzan Mirza was cleared.

Mr Khan’s wife has moved away from the area to an unknown location. His family will never recover their loss.

The Cohens have had their loss too: their brother, Lester Divers, was murdered on 1st January 2003.

The tragic loss of life through gun crime has left these families utterly destroyed.
