A teenager was shot in the right arm late on Thursday 20th September in the Pitsmoor area of Sheffield, in what is being described as a drive-by incident.
The police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred on Carlisle Street at approximately 9.30pm, near to the junction with New Hall Road and Owler Lane. The victim, aged 16, was a passenger in a car when he was shot from another vehicle. His injuries are understood to not be life-threatening.
Two males have been arrested in connection with the incident, one a man aged 23, and the other a boy of 15. Chief Superintendent Jon House said, "We are treating the incident very seriously as we do in any gun crime and a full investigation has been launched.”
He went on to say that, “We believe it to be a targeted attack and want to reassure the public that this type on incident is exceptionally rare, and that Sheffield still remains one of the safest cities in the country."
