Jobs with BCAF

Burngreave Community Action Forum (BCAF) in partnership with Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC) are now looking to recruit to two posts to work with them to develop a sustainable grass roots organisation that will enable all residents/members to contribute fully. The focus of the organisation is to strengthen the voice and influence of local residents through the Forum’s quarterly meetings and working groups. Working in partnership to ensure that residents are informed and involved in decisions that impact on the area.

Development Manager – £27,313 – £31,649

You will be responsible for co-ordinating the committee’s responsibilities for the day-to-day management of the Forum. Your main responsibilities will be to develop and deliver a two way consultation mechanism with local residents and development of the Forum.

If you have the following skills we would like to hear from you:-

  • Ability to work with a wide range of staff, residents, partners and stakeholders

  • Ability to organise using participatory methods within diverse communities

  • A working knowledge of community development in an Urban context

  • An awareness of, and sensitivity to, issues of equality and diversity

  • Understanding of participative approaches to community development

Interviews to be held on 19 October 2007

Project Administrator – £16,176 – £19,575

Reporting directly to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day administration of the project and for the reception/signposting function. You will assist with the promotion of the Forum and associated bodies

If you have the following skills we would like to hear from you:-

  • Ability to carry out a range of tasks, prioritising you workload to ensure that timescales are achieved

  • Experience of using systems to monitor performance against objectives and targets

  • A working knowledge of office management including financial management, publicity and marketing and information systems

  • A competent user of ICT
