Public meeting on housing crisis

A public meeting has been called by Sheffield Defend Council Housing to discuss the current crisis in the number of council houses available, which is under enormous demand. The meeting will be attended by representatives from Sheffield Defend Council Housing and three local MPs.

There are currently over 90,000 people on Sheffield's council housing waiting list. The active waiting list has risen from 15,000 to over 60,000 in the last six years.

The meeting is also supported by Sheffield NUT, Sheffield Met Unison and the Sheffield Trades Council. It will take place at St. Mary's Church at Bramall Lane/Inner Ring Road on Thursday 8th November and is scheduled to commence at 7.15pm.
