Barnsley Road Mosque/Madressa planning application refused

A planning application for a Mosque and Madressa to be rebuilt at the junction between Barnsley Road and Osgathorpe Road was refused on 23rd October 2007.

Although the report provided to council officers recommended that the application be granted, the officers of the planning board refused the application on the grounds that it would be out of character with local buildings, would inconvenience local residents, and would cause road safety problems due to increased traffic and a lack of adequate parking facilities.
