Local taxi driver shot dead on Scott Road

Local taxi driver, Younis Khan, died after being shot in his cab on Scott Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning on 14th March 2007. Three men have since been arrested and released, but the motive for his murder remains unclear.

Mr Khan, aged 53, was well known in the community, he has been a taxi driver for over 20 years and formerly ran one of the small supermarkets on Scott Road. He has lived on Abbeyfield Road for many years with his family.

Police have increased patrols in the area following the incident, and have sent a letter to residents asking for information.
