Continuous rain caused flooding and forced road closures across Sheffield today (Monday 25th June).
Burngreave and Fir Vale were affected with the closure of the Wicker, Nursery Street and Sutherland Street as the River Don burst its banks. Upwell Street was also reported as closed. The resulting traffic problems caused tail backs affecting many roads including Burngreave Road, Spital Hill and Cookswood Road.
Neighbouring areas such as Attercliffe were also seriously affected, roads around Meadowhall were flooded, the train station was closed, and Hillsborough College was reported as flooded.
