This year’s theme celebrates the Indian subcontinent to link with the Bollywood International awards being held at Don Valley stadium in June.
Wednesday 20th June at 7.15pm. “East Side Story” by Firvale School is presented at the Crucible Studio.
Thursday 21st June at 7.30pm – With the help of the Bengali Women’s Support Group, Firshill school students will be participating in the show ‘Bombay Mix’ – a multilingual, song, dance and film performance at the Crucible main house. Other local schools also involved in this performance are Pye Bank CE, Southey Green and Hinde House Primaries.
Tuesday 26th june at 7.15pm. “Postcards Home” by the Firth Park Family of Schools is at the Crucible Studio.
Saturday July 7th at 12.00noon. Lord Mayor’s Carnival Parade takes place. Children from Firs Hill School are creating a marching band for the parade.
Year 10 students from Firth Park Community Arts College will be reporting the Children’s Festival to the world through a live news website following 6 months learning from BBC journalists.
Many other performances, displays and activities will take place in the Showroom, Workstation, Winter Gardens, Millennium Galleries, Kelham Island, Sheffield Libraries and the Children’s Hospital.
