My brother, Sajid Razaq and I, were the last of five children in our family to graduate. My parents are very proud. Even though we have lived in Fir Vale and went to Owler Brook Nursery Infant School, Whiteways Junior School and Earl Marshal School (now Firvale) we still worked hard, were encouraged by our parents and achieved our ambitions with great honour.

Sajid spent a lot longer at university studying Pharmacy, then went on to do a Masters degree in Pharmacy at De Montfort University in Leicester.

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a B.A. (Hons) in Early Years Education with QTS, at present I am supply teaching across schools in Sheffield and in January I intend to teach at Beck Primary School. Teaching is something I always aspired to, knowing that I will make a difference to children's lives and be a positive role model.

I won't hesitate to say that studying at University was hard work and even though I didn't find a job straight away, studying at University and becoming a teacher was the best decision I made in my entire life, no regrets at all. Work hard and stay focussed and you too will achieve your goals!
