The Burngreave Advice Alliance

An alliance of local advice centres wants to make sure you know your rights.

The National Minimum Wage

Most employees should receive the following hourly rate:

You also have other rights at work we can tell you about, such as your rights to paid holiday.

Tax Credits

Depending on your age and circumstances, if you work 16 hours or over per week, you may be able to claim Working Tax Credit, which can include money for childcare. If you look after a child you may be able to claim Child Tax Credit.

The rules for these, and other, rights can be complex. So we are here to help you with a completely free and independent service. We have a programme of information events that we hope you can visit, or you can ring this Helpline:

0845 120 2968

Lines open: Mon – Fri 9.30am – 3.30pm (from February 26th to April 5th 2007). Telephone help in community languages will be available on Thursdays: See the PDF version of this page for more details.

After giving you general information and an initial assessment we may arrange further help such as an appointment with an adviser in one of the advice centres. We can offer a service in several community languages. The advice centres taking part in this campaign:
