Apprenticeships for All has been working in partnership with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals to develop an employment and training programme for Burngreave residents looking for work and training.
The programme links in with managers at the five hospital sites across the city and combines off-the-job training at Pegasus House with workplace training alongside a ‘buddy’ for a total of twenty weeks.
On successful completion of the programme, which started at the end of November, individuals will have the opportunity for permanent employment in their chosen area of work.
It is anticipated that the training programme will be repeated and anyone who has not been successful this time will be supported over the next couple of months by Forum House projects to help them succeed next time around.
Apprenticeships for All provides employment and training opportunities to residents of Burngreave aged 16-60 thanks to an innovative partnership between Burngreave New Deal for Communities and Sheffield City Council’s Lifelong Learning and Skills Directorate.
Since 2004 Apprenticeships for All has become well-established within the BNDfC area.
