The Sheffield Racial Equality Council is here to support you. The Race Relations Act (RRA) saya you cannot be discriminated against becuase of your race, colour, nationality or citizenship, your ethnic or national origin.

The Race Relations Act give protection to individuals at work, in recruitment and selection, when seeking any serivces, in education, in housing, when seeking any public services, in dealinngs with the police, trade union members and using the union's service, or wishing to be a member, in vocational training and other circumstances.

Most cases involve what is called direct racial discrimination. This takes place if you are treated less favourable than someone from a different racial background would be treated in your situation.

If you believe you have been racially discriminated against, you can get advice from the Sheffield Racial Equality Council who will advise and assist you with your complaint under the Race Relations Act.
