What is Apprenticeships for All?

  • Apprenticeships for All offers a wide range of training and employment opportunities for residents of Burngreave who are over 16 and looking for work.

How can Apprenticeships for All help me?

  • Apprenticeships for All are designed to meet your needs - we aim to provide a complete package of training and employment support, so that you are in the best position to get the job you want.

What does Apprenticeship for All involve?

  • An employment opportunity/work placement in your chosen area of work
  • Accredited training which is relevant to your chosen area of work
  • Additional support, such as language support, numeracy and literacy training and childcare, is available to give you every chance of finding employment.

How long does the Apprenticeship for All last?

  • Apprenticeships for All usually last up to a year, although depending on the skills required and the level of the qualification, they can last as long as two years.
  • All placements last for twelve months, the training could take longer depending on your qualifications and skill levels.

How much will I get paid?

  • All Apprenticeship for All participants are paid according to their age, as follows:
  • Aged 16- 18: Apprentices receive a minimum of £80 per week
  • On another training programme doing at least 16 hours per week the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) applies
  • Aged 19 +: National Minimum Wage as a minimum

What qualifications can I gain on the Apprenticeships for All Project?

  • You will be given the opportunity to gain a qualification in your chosen area of work.

What is expected of me during my time on Apprenticeships for All?

  • You will be expected to show commitment to both your placement/employer and training within your Apprenticeship for All programme.

What kind of Apprenticeships for All programmes is available?

  • There are a wide range of Apprenticeship for All employment opportunities, covering many different areas of work, listed below are some examples of these - however Apprenticeship for All cover's many other areas of work - please contact the team for more details.

Administration/ IT

Includes: Daily office work, mail handling, telephone enquiries, computer operation, photocopying and faxing.

You will need to: Have good english, maths and customer service skills, be organised, enjoy working with technology and ideally be of smart appearance.

You could work in: The administration/reception/IT departments of both small and large companies.

Construction

Includes: General construction, block paving, concreting, health and safety, kerb laying, paving, access equipment.

You will need to: Enjoy working outdoors in all weather, be physically fit and able to work in a team.

You could work in: Many construction trades, including building, joinery, plumbing, engineering, scaffolding, electrical work.

Catering

Includes: Food preparation, menu planning, customer service, general kitchen duties, food hygiene, health and safety.

You will need to: Have good planning and customer service skills.

You could work in: Bars, cafes, bistro's, restaurants.

Printing

Includes: Using printing equipment, machine settings and operation, digital printing, order planning.

You will need to: Enjoy working as part of a team, be interested in design and technology, have good attention to detail.

You could work in: Print companies, design agencies, t-shirt printing.

How do I join the Apprenticeships for All project?

You can be referred to the project by your Jobcentre plus adviser, Connexions Worker or through a local referral agency.

You will then have an initial interview to discuss your employment, training and additional needs- this will help the Apprenticeship for All Team to place you on an employment opportunity or a placement with an employer.
