Rainbow House was host to young people from the townships of Cape Town in July, as they stopped off in Sheffield en route to an international camp for young people in Kent.

Sheffield and Burngreave residents had raised £9,000 so that twenty young people from Cape Town could take part in the Global Village camp, organised by the Woodcraft Folk and involving young people from 51 countries.

Eight of the people going to the camp came to Sheffield for a week beforehand and visited Rainbow House, run by Burngreave Problem Busters, where they met local people and played pool with Burngreave youngsters.

The Woodcraft Folk is a national children and young people’s movement, which aims to build a world based on equality, friendship, peace and cooperation. To find out more or help build links with the young South Africans, contact Jon on 268 6369.
