Our Deliver It Green project has already made a big impact, clearing undergrowth and pruning trees to open up views at Denholme, Pitsmoor Road open spaces and Burngreave Rec making them safer and more accessible. We have reclaimed an area of waste ground on Nottingham Cliffe by clearing undergrowth and rubbish, installing a barrier to prevent dumping and will be installing a bench with a great view up the valley towards Rivelin.
The stewards team together with residents and volunteers are improving the landscape around Firs Hill Close. Some residents there had already started to garden the areas around their flats and have joined with GCA to improve things further.
We have built a large raised bed with lattice fencing to screen a garden area from the road, this will be planted up in the autumn along with other areas to soften the landscape. It’s great that residents are now involved in delivering the improvements to their environment and especially that six of the seven stewards we employ are from Burngreave.
