Dear Messenger
I have no idea who actually owns the piece of derelict land at the very top of Osgathorpe Road next to No 119, but it would be wonderful if the land could be put to some good use, say the building of a couple of garages or even flats. As it is, the land is at present merely used as a public toilet (very unpleasant in the recent hot spell) and a dumping ground for rubbish, including items left by drug addicts. I think it is disgusting that we have to live with such a stinking rubbish dump on our doorstep. Aren’t there environmental rules about this sort of thing? It is high time that whoever owns this land was made to do something with it that would hopefully be of use to local people. Or is that too much to ask?
