Sorby House public event

Come and find out the latest news about Sorby House at a public event on Friday 6th October. The Kier Group, Sorby House developers appointed by BNDfC, are committed to working closely with BNDfC and local residents and schools to ensure the community are truly involved.

The afternoon will be an opportunity for you to meet the developers and it also marks the start of a series of events to be organised throughout the physical development of Sorby House.

Ideas at present include;

competitions for children to suggest the contents of a time capsule to be held behind a wall in the reception area; winner of another competition to have their handprint cast in concrete at the entrance to Sorby House and the setting up of a ‘Doomsday Book’ where residents can include their hopes and aspirations for the future. On the afternoon Surestart will be organising activities to keep the children amused giving you the opportunity to look at the plans for Sorby House and photographs already taken by Richard Hanson, photographer charged with keeping a pictorial record of progress.

The event is at Forum House, Spital Hill, on Friday 6th October, 3.00–5.30pm – refreshments will be available.
