The Editorial

The Messenger is sad to announce that we have had to make a half-time Development Worker post redundant due to economic reasons. Gaby Spinks, who has been with us for over three years, left the Messenger at the end of April 2006 and the Messenger would like to thank her for all the work she put into the project.

The Messenger has New Deal funding until November 2006, and we are working hard, like many projects, to develop a plan to keep going for years to come. The Messenger has a green light from New Deal but we are unlikely to ever have our current level of grant funding again.

Our aim is to reduce our dependence on grant funding while keeping the Messenger independent, delivered free to the area and produced by local residents.

If you would like to get involved or contribute, please get in touch.
