The Royal Oak is situated on the corner of Earsham Street and Kirk Street, just off Gower Street. There is a bus stop opposite which covers about eight services from the estates straight into town.
This is a cosy little pub having just one main room and an outside beer garden, which is very popular in summer with the children.
The beer is Stones which is always excellent, and the Worthington and Carling lager, once again is spot on. For a more discerning taste, there is Coors lager and of course Guinness.
Entertainment consists of ‘Karaoke with Guy’ on Friday night and Sunday afternoon and early evening. A big screen television which receives Sky Sports, so you can watch all premiership and championship football matches.
A games team play darts, crib and dominoes in the local Burngreave league, and there is a football team which play every Sunday morning.
If it’s a flutter you’re wanting have a go on the ‘Bingo Bongo’ which has over hundred members. All you have to do is pick three numbers from the national lottery and hope they come out as the bonus ball, they are marked off every week until you get all three. Prize money soon builds up and one lucky chap won £1,400, not bad eh!
