Clearing the way

But walking, as we know doesn’t mean going to Derbyshire. And one small contribution that the Area Panel’s making to walking – and trying to reduce the 41 premature deaths a year in Burngreave caused by inadequate exercise – is to open up local paths.

With the local Ranger team, we’ll be improving the surfaces and opening up site lines on the local paths and tracks – across Smithy’s Field; over Parkwood Springs and through Roe Woods.

Watch out for a walking and cycling audit that will be taking place in the Burngreave and Fir Vale area to see how we can improve the local environment for walking.
