The Pub Guide: The Hallcar Tavern

Story by Elaine Costello

The Hallcar Tavern is situated in the centre of the Carwood Estate on Carwood Grove, handy for bus routes 2O, 39 and B1.

There is a comfortable lounge and a small pool room. Outside we have a beer garden which is nice to relax in and enjoy the sun on a summer’s day whilst sampling our range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

We also serve tea and coffee and at lunchtime we have a selection of sandwiches and toasties. Children are welcome until 7pm.

Our beer is Boddingtons and Flowers IPN and IPA caskconditioned real ale served on a hand pump. Lagers are extracold Castlemaine 4X or Labbatts and our premium lager is Stella extra chilled.

Monday night is pool night. Darts, dominoes and crib teams play in the Burngreave league on Tuesday nights. Hallcar Tavern FC play every Sunday morning. New players are always welcome for all our teams. Friday night is bingo night with occasional karaoke or live acts either Saturday or Sunday. Pitsmoor Credit Union come in on Monday evenings at around 8pm.

You can also book private functions, for example birthday parties etc.

You can always be sure of a warm and friendly welcome from Elaine and Pete and all their staff, so come along and join us.
