Youth drop-in

Story by Rob Smith

The New Deal Community Engagement Team have set up a youth drop-in centre within the New Deal Information Shop on Spital Hill.

“This is part of a six-month trial to see if it is a feasible method of engaging some under-represented groups in and around Bungreave…” explained Leroy Betts.

125 young people have accessed some form of support from this initiative that closes on 22nd May 2005, although support and information for young people will stay available throughout the year.

“This overall plan has used small activities to attract young people, once engaged they are given support advice and information” said Leroy.
