Mr Jolly

Story by Carl Rose

After a disappointing result last season, coach of Burngreave under 7s football team, Rob Jolly, is hoping to recruit more players to the squad.

“We have some great players but there are just not enough available to cover substitutes and absences.”

He feels this could be why the team lost ten out of the twelve league games played.

“We are looking for mums and dads to spot the potential in their children and bring them along. It is a fun atmosphere for the kids and their parents. We like to encourage parents to join in with the team spirit on match days.”

Rob is also encouraging parents with some time to spare to get involved.

“We could do with an extra coach or two to help out with the training and on match days.”

A refreshment stall is available when they play matches on Petre Street playing fields.

The football training is held every Wednesday at Sheffield United training facility from 4.15–5.30pm. The training lasts throughout the summer months in preparation for next season.
