Seed exchange

Story by Rob Bullock, GCA

Green City Action (GCA) will be running the seed exchange again this year. The scheme provides free vegetable and flower seeds, as well as onion sets and seed potatoes. We also encourage gardeners to share resources by donating surplus seeds to the exchange so we can redistribute them.

This year we are offering free pots and compost to anyone who is able to contribute seedlings, cuttings and plants, for fund-raising plant sales at the Environment Month event in May, Abbeyfield Park Multicultural Festival on 10th July and other events over the year. We can also support groups hoping to use plant sales in fund raising for their own organizations.

To find out more contact GCA on 244 0353 or call into the Tool Bank in Abbeyfield Park House – Tuesday and Wednesday, 11am–4pm and Saturday, 10am–12 noon.
