…So would you like to volunteer?

Volunteers are at the heart of what the Messenger is about, they decide what is in each issue and there are lots of practical tasks to be done. But it doesn’t have to mean a week in, week out commitment, you can decide what you take on.

We have loads of different opportunities:

Editorial – come and decide what goes in each issue.

Correspondents – keep the Editorial team up to speed on what’s happening. For example: in the arts, for young people, health or the environment.

Reporters – write articles, do interviews and cover events.

Photographers – cover events and stories.

Proof Readers – check each issue for errors and spelling mistakes.

Newspaper reader – keep the Editorial team up to date about what’s being written about Burngreave.

Web designer – help update the website.

Designer – help design adverts or whole pages.

Management – have a say on how the Messenger is run.

If you’d like any more information please contact Gaby Spinks on 242 0564. Or come along to the first editorial meeting for the next issue, Wednesday 2nd February 2005, 6.30pm Abbeyfield Park House.
