Messenger Editorial

Eid Mubarak and Happy New Year!

2005 will be an important year for the Messenger, in April we will celebrate our 50th Issue! Many thanks to the Area Panel for the award (page 16) recognising the five years of hard work that have gone into establishing a strong voice for the community. It can be great fun putting the Messenger together each month and you learn a lot about the area and all kinds of media. This year we want to help more residents get involved in making the Messenger better than ever. To find out more about the different ways you can get involved turn to page 12.

We are also trying something new in February. At the first editorial meeting each month we want people come along and help us review the last issue and debate what should go into the next one. Come along to Abbeyfield Park House at 6.30pm on Wednesday 2nd February, or if you’ve got ideas but can’t be there, please get in touch with the office The Burngreave Messenger is a community newspaper, funded by New Deal, with editorial independence. We aim to increase and encourage communication in Burngreave.
