What a choice!

International Women’s Day came early in Burngreave this year with an event on the 7th March 2005 (not the 8th which is traditionally the day).

But nevertheless a great day was enjoyed by all those women who came along to the Spectrum Centre that morning. And what a choice of activities awaited them: be pampered or be creative… or do both!

There were lots of stalls and practical activities such as painting, creative writing, carpentry, African drumming, willow weaving, flower arranging and Arabic calligraphy. In addition women could have a free massage, or henna-painted hands or a session with a hair and beauty expert. Lunch was accompanied by singing from the Sadacca Women’s Group and Sure Start organised the crèche.

Altogether a highly sociable and entertaining day for Burngreave women, with over 300 people turning up.
