Story: Firshill TARA
It is with very deep regret that we have to announce the death of Jean Hayden who was the Chair of Firshill Tenants’ and Residents’ Association for many years.
Jean died in May 2004 following a hard-fought battle against cancer. We know that everyone who knew her will wish to join us in sending condolences to her family.
Jean was involved in Firshill TARA from its very start and she never stopped working for the good of the estate and the people living here – even her illness did not stop her attending meetings which were important to our community or making sure that we were properly represented. She will be greatly missed and not easily replaced – hopefully we will be able to carry on the good work she began to ensure that Firshill keeps its reputation as one of the best estates in Sheffield.
The Association has arranged for a bench, dedicated to Jean’s memory, to be placed at Roe Wood Residential Home where she was a frequent visitor when her mother was a resident there.
