Story by Kieron Williams – Area Co-ordinator for the Burngreave Area Panel.
The Burngreave Area Panel is working with Street Force to help make sure our streets are kept clean and tidy. We regularly walk around the area with officers to point out problems and help come up with solutions. Here are just a few of the things that happened as a result of our last walkabout in June:
An intensive clean up of the Fir Vale Road/Goddard Hall Road area on 28th June, unblocking drains and sweeping up silt, litter and tree debris from roads and pavements. (Thanks to every one who helped out buy moving their cars!)
New litterbins ordered for outside Firs Hill School and by the bus stop on Barnsley Road/Osgathorpe Road.
Fly tipping removed from various sites around the area.
Street cleaning schedules changed to make sure problem areas are cleaned and checked more regularly.
A general clean up of silt that had collected in gutters and around traffic islands across the whole area
If there are any areas you would like us to look at on out next walkabout please let us know by contacting your area action team at the address below. Alternatively you can report problems direct to Street Force by calling 273 4567.
