The Burngreave Community Action Forum Buildings Group is looking at what is possible when Woodside is developed. They are planning a visit to Hockerton Housing Project to enable local people interested in creating a low-maintenace, low-energy housing initiative in our area, to see what it’s really like in the flesh.
The guided tour and workshop, funded by New Deal, will be from 10am to 4pm on a Saturday in the New Year. If you are interested please contact either Saleema on 275 5055 or BCAF on 272 8008. The places are limited and it’s first come first served, so get your name down.
What is the Hockerton Housing Project?
“…the UK’s first earth sheltered, self-sufficient ecological housing development. The residents of the five houses generate their own clean energy, harvest their own water and recycle waste materials causing no pollution or carbon dioxide emissions.”
