Our under 12s basketball team, from the Fir Vale basketball development centre, competed their first tournament at the English Institute of Sport on 14th November 2004. They performed fantastically – winning 3 of 5 games.
Ben Hamilton and local coach Adil Anwar accompanied the team. Ben said:
“We have been so impressed with the number of young players we have attracted to our Saturday morning basketball sessions. We are thrilled that they performed so well on the day.”
The next tournament will be held in January 2005 and the Burngreave Sports project is hoping to enter teams at both under 12 and under 14 level and are looking for new players.
Sessions run on Saturdays, 9.30–11.00am at Fir Vale sports centre. They are open to all aged 9–14 and we have both male and female coaches. Contact Ben on 0781 068 5523.
