Dear Messenger,
I was reading the piece on kids with anti-social behaviour problems. Are they just bullies and hoodlums, nasty for the sake of it because they want to be bad kids?
I get on the 75 or 76 bus every day from Firth Park, when the kids have come out of the school. When the bus stops to let people on, they push in and get on without showing their pass or paying. When the driver tells them to get off or won’t let anymore on, they get abusive and violent. They bang on the glass where the driver is sitting. He closes the doors and they just open them from the outside and try to get on. People on the bus look scared and some even get off because of the ignorant little brats.
It’s not fair on the driver or the people on the bus. They have CCTV cameras, so why don’t they go through them to catch them? Take action by going to the schools, getting their names and addresses. Write to their parents, get them in school or court, show them the videos. Then take their bus pass off them, ban them off all buses and give them a big fine. Or bring back school buses.
With two people on the bus, the driver and someone to keep an eye on the kids, it will save all the aggro on public buses.
It’s not fair on the public or the bus drivers. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. Then what will happen? I dread to think.
